About Kim DeYoung - The Get it Done Girl

Kim DeYoungDynamic, creative and always resourceful, Kim is the founder of Get It Done University and Metromom.com. She’s committed to helping entrepreneurs “get it done” so they can make more money, help more people and get their brilliance out into the world.

After graduating from the University of Michigan, Kim dedicated herself with enthusiasm to an exciting career in the fashion industry. She thrived on the thrilling team environment and energetic corporate culture working for popular companies like the Gap, Banana Republic and J. Crew

She left the corporate world behind when she was pregnant with her first child. As her pregnancy progressed Kim longed for not only comfortable clothes but for a career. Cleverly combining the two she launched Metromom Maternity, a comfortable, urban-chic line of maternity wear. Kim relished the freedom and flexibility of working from home.

Three kids later, Kim decided she needed to simplify so she liquidated her clothing line. What was next? After some time in direct sales, which gave her the opportunity to connect with mom entrepreneurs like herself, Kim saw the need for a supportive online community to provide women working from home the connections and training they craved.

In 2008 she launched Metromom.com – a popular online resource for motivated women entrepreneurs, aka Metromoms. Kim brought to this new endeavor her characteristic enthusiasm, sense of style and magical ability to connect. What she lacked however was experience in internet marketing. But that didn’t stop her for a minute.

Ever resourceful Kim launched her website, created a high-traffic blog, launched a new membership program, hosted an online telesummit with 18 experts, was on TV and radio numerous times (including the Today Show) and released several info-products. It wasn’t easy but the results of all this internet marketing are impressive. In just a year her list grew by over 500% and her web traffic volume more than tripled.

After launching Metromom.com, Kim realized that she had something special to offer entrepreneurs who were struggling to implement new and ever-changing online marketing strategies. As is often the case someone else had to point it out to her. After a conversation about everything she’d recently accomplished a mastermind friend said, “Kim, I’ve NEVER met anyone who can get it done like you do.”

A light bulb went off it that moment. Kim realized that while everyone else is still brainstorming… she gets it done. It’s really a combination of her ability to simultaneously see the big picture of what needs to be done AND break it down into detailed, logical steps. Add to that her optimistic attitude and resourcefulness and she’s truly unstoppable.

Kim shifted into being the “Get It Done Girl” and developed the GET IT DONE Action Club followed by Get It Done University – the how to resource for the busy entrepreneur. For the first time she fully stepped into the role of teacher by creating informational products, leading interactive classes and one-on-one “get it done” coaching.

In 2010, Kim became EVP of Global Franchise Development for Ladies Who Launch. She decided this was a tremendous opportunity to bring entrepreneurship to a global market of women, supporting women in a bigger way than she could before.

Kim stands out because she is completely authentic in the way she manages her business. There’s an instant connection with her because she is open and honest as she shares all of her learning experiences – the good and the bad. You can be sure that Kim will continue to look for ways to give entrepreneurs the tools and strategies they need to implement their big business ideas.
